Navision History
Navision Software a/s was originally established in Denmark in the mid 1980’s. In the early 1990’s they embarked on a globalisation strategy which saw initial entry in several European countries. In 1997, Navision Software (Australasia) was established in Brisbane, Australia. Michael McGregor was a founding employee in the Australian operation which over the next 5 years successfully established a Singapore office, a premier partner channel in Australia, New Zealand and 7 countries in South East Asia and a burgeoning customer base throughout the Asia Pacific. During this time Navision Software a/s completed an international acquisition of Damgaard a/s and the Axapta product and established joint operations in over 60 countries worldwide.
Microsoft History
Due to the overwhelming international success Navision Software a/s was achieving, Microsoft Corporation completed a US$2.5bn acquisition of Navision Software globally to establish its Microsoft Business Solutions (MBS) Division. This was the largest acquisition in Microsoft’s history. Michael McGregor was retained by Microsoft in Australia as part of the acquisition.
Enterprise Business Solutions History
In June 2003, as a result of inevitable restructuring within Microsoft to fully integrate the acquired Navision operations with core Microsoft operations, Michael McGregor negotiated a voluntary redundancy settlement with Microsoft Australia. The settlement included provision for him to establish a business operation to continue to represent the highly successful Navision application through a partnering relationship with Microsoft. This saw him establish Enterprise Business Solutions (Australasia) Pty Ltd (EBSA) in Sydney in July 2003.
